France Removals Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps taken by France Removals to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. It applies to all employees, workers, contractors, and suppliers who work with or on behalf of France Removals.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
France Removals has a clear zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and all forms of exploitation. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing systems and controls that seek to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our business or in our supply chains.
All managers and supervisors are responsible for promoting this commitment, and every member of staff is expected to uphold our standards. We do not tolerate any behaviour that undermines the rights and dignity of individuals, and any breach of this policy may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or contract.
Our Business and Supply Chains
France Removals provides removal and relocation services, including domestic and international moves, storage, packing, and associated logistics. Our supply chains include vehicle and equipment providers, storage facilities, packaging material suppliers, subcontracted labour, and other professional and logistics partners.
We recognise that elements of the logistics, transport, and temporary labour sectors can be vulnerable to modern slavery risks. As a result, we focus on assessing and managing these risks through due diligence, ongoing engagement, and active monitoring of our supply partners.
Supplier Standards and Audit Processes
We expect all suppliers and contractors to share our commitment to preventing modern slavery. As part of our procurement and supplier management processes, we:
Require suppliers to confirm that they comply with all applicable laws relating to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and child labour.
Assess new suppliers based on ethical criteria, including labour standards and working conditions, as part of our onboarding checks.
Reserve the right to audit suppliers, particularly where there is a higher risk profile, to review their policies, practices, and records relating to worker welfare and labour standards.
Expect suppliers to be transparent in relation to their own supply chains and to cascade similar standards to their subcontractors and partners.
Where an audit or assessment reveals shortcomings, we work with the supplier to agree corrective actions within a clear timeframe. If a supplier is unwilling or unable to meet our expectations, we may review or terminate the business relationship.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels
France Removals encourages all employees, workers, and business partners to report any concerns related to modern slavery or unethical labour practices. Concerns may include suspected exploitation, abuse of vulnerable workers, unsafe working conditions, or any indication that a person may be under coercion or control.
Reports can be made in person to a line manager, senior manager, or a designated member of our leadership team. Individuals are also encouraged to raise concerns through internal reporting channels established for ethical or compliance issues.
All reports are treated seriously, handled sensitively, and investigated promptly where appropriate. We are committed to protecting anyone who raises a concern in good faith from retaliation or detrimental treatment as a result of speaking up.
Training and Awareness
We aim to increase awareness of modern slavery risks among employees, particularly those involved in recruitment, procurement, and supplier management. Where relevant, we provide guidance on identifying potential indicators of exploitation and on the correct procedures for raising concerns.
By strengthening awareness and understanding, we seek to ensure that modern slavery is recognised early and addressed effectively wherever there is a potential risk.
Monitoring, Governance, and Annual Review
Responsibility for overseeing our approach to modern slavery sits with the senior management of France Removals. They review the effectiveness of our policies, controls, and due diligence processes and consider any changes needed to improve our response.
This statement is reviewed annually to ensure it reflects our current activities, evolving legal requirements, and best practice guidance. As part of the annual review, we consider feedback from audits, investigations, and stakeholder engagement to strengthen our controls and further reduce the risk of modern slavery in our operations and supply chains.
France Removals remains committed to continuous improvement in this area and to working collaboratively with employees, suppliers, and partners to uphold human rights and safeguard the welfare of all those connected to our business.
